I got the 64 bit live cd for SolydK 201405 to the desktop only by dropping that file into /efi/boot on a disk prepped for GPT/efi only using rufus with the EFI compatible 64 bit Linux OS iso of your choice. Also, don't use the MS supplied version as it totally depends on Windows. Generally follow the instructions here- It's actually not as complex as it looks. This is really pretty easy to deal with, as all you need is THIS version of the file I have the huckleberry for Linux/android booting, the TW100 (and almost certainly the 8") use 32bit EFI. The Dell mouse is bulletproof with everything else I used it with, which covers a lot of hardware. The BT seems flake on the 10.1" version, keeps dropping my Dell BT travel mouse and my MX5000 Logitech keyboard after ~30 seconds.
